Aloe Vera Juice
The base of this formula is aloe barbadensis leaf juice rather than plain water, a deliberate choice that fundamentally changes the character of the cleanse. Aloe juice is rich in polysaccharides, enzymes, and amino acids that actively soothe the skin during the cleansing process, counteracting the temporary disruption that even gentle surfactants cause. For oily and acne-prone skin that is often simultaneously congested and sensitised, this means a cleanse that removes what needs removing without triggering the rebound oil production that harsh cleansers cause.

Blackberry Extract
Extracted from organically farmed blackberries, this ingredient brings a concentrated payload of anthocyanins, ellagic acid, and natural fruit acids to the formula. The anthocyanins are among the most potent antioxidants found in any berry, neutralising the free radicals that accumulate on oily skin after environmental exposure. The natural acids provide a very gentle surface-level exfoliation with each cleanse, gradually refining texture and reducing the dullness that often accompanies congested skin. Used daily, the cumulative effect is a complexion that looks progressively clearer and more even.

Burdock Root Extract
Arctium Lappa, or burdock, has been used in traditional European and East Asian herbal medicine as a purifying and balancing botanical for centuries, long before its active compounds were understood. Modern analysis has confirmed its high content of inulin, polyacetylenes, and phenolic acids, which work together to regulate sebum production, reduce the inflammatory response around breakouts, and support the skin's microbiome balance. For chronically oily skin that produces excess sebum in response to dehydration or imbalance, burdock addresses the underlying regulatory dysfunction rather than simply absorbing oil at the surface.

Sage & Sweet Flag Extract
Organically grown Salvia Officinalis, or sage, contributes rosmarinic acid and flavonoids that calm post-cleanse inflammation and tighten the appearance of pores. Sweet flag root, or Acorus Calamus, is a less familiar but exceptionally effective ingredient with documented antimicrobial and skin-soothing properties used in Ayurvedic traditions for skin conditions involving congestion and sensitivity. Together they complete the formula's purifying action while ensuring the skin feels balanced and comfortable rather than stripped.

Pump a small amount into clean, damp hands and lather briefly. Apply to damp skin and massage gently in circular motions across the face and neck. Rinse thoroughly with lukewarm water. Follow with your Rose Lumière Toner and serum. Use morning and evening. For oily or acne-prone skin, the evening cleanse is the most important, removing the day's sebum, pollution, and SPF before skin enters its overnight repair cycle.
