Aloe Vera Juice
The base of this formula is aloe barbadensis leaf juice from organically farmed plants, replacing the plain water used in most gel cleansers. This single decision changes the entire character of the cleanse — aloe juice delivers polysaccharides, enzymes, and amino acids that actively soothe the skin during washing, counteracting the temporary disruption that surfactants cause. For oily and acne-prone skin that is frequently over-cleansed and sensitised, this means a cleanse that consistently leaves the skin calm and balanced rather than tight and reactive.

Plum Fruit Extract
Extracted from organically farmed Prunus Domestica, European plum fruit extract is an underappreciated ingredient with a remarkable antioxidant and brightening profile. Rich in anthocyanins, vitamin C precursors, and natural fruit acids, it works at the skin's surface with each cleanse to neutralise oxidative stress, gently accelerate cell turnover, and gradually refine the uneven texture and dullness that accompany congested skin. Unlike harsher exfoliating cleansers, its action is cumulative and gentle — the skin improves progressively without any single cleanse feeling aggressive.

Sodium PCA
Sodium PCA is one of the skin's own natural moisturising factors, present in the stratum corneum where it plays a central role in regulating surface hydration. Cleansing temporarily depletes it, which is why skin often feels tight immediately after washing. Including it directly in the formula replenishes what the cleansing process removes, restoring the skin's moisture-holding capacity at the moment it is most needed. For oily skin that paradoxically suffers from dehydration, this is the difference between a cleanser that creates a problem and one that solves it.

Coconut-derived Surfactants
The cleansing agents in this formula — lauryl glucoside, coco-glucoside, disodium cocoyl glutamate, and sodium cocoyl glutamate — are all derived from coconut and are among the gentlest, most skin-compatible surfactants available in modern cosmetic chemistry. Unlike traditional sulfates that strip the skin's lipid barrier indiscriminately, these ingredients selectively dissolve oil-based impurities and sebum while leaving the skin's protective lipid film substantially intact. The lather is soft and satisfying rather than aggressively foamy — a deliberate choice that reflects a formulation philosophy of effectiveness without compromise.

Lather a small amount in damp palms and apply to wet skin. Massage gently in circular motions across the face and neck for 30 to 60 seconds. Rinse thoroughly with lukewarm water. Follow with your Rose Lumière Toner. Use morning and evening. For acne-prone skin, the evening cleanse is the most important step — removing SPF, sebum, and pollution residue before the skin enters its overnight repair cycle creates the clean foundation that all subsequent products need to perform at their best.
